As women, we have been conditioned to believe that period cramps are an inevitable part of life. From a young age, we are taught to accept discomfort and pain as something normal.

In Sweden alone, a study showed that 89% of women experience monthly pain, with 36% reporting severe discomfort.

This highlights how widespread this issue is. But there are natural ways to support the body and reduce menstrual discomfort that have been used for centuries.

Alongside essential lifestyle factors such as movement, stress management, nourishing food, hydration, sleep, and rest, certain herbs can play a powerful role in easing cramps and supporting the body during your cycle.

If pain is persistent or severe, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus is known for its naturally strong, fast-acting properties when it comes to relieving menstrual discomfort.

It can help ease cramping in the lower abdomen and is also effective for general stomach discomfort. Its naturally tart profile reflects its active compounds, which may support the body in reducing tension and discomfort.

Hibiscus also acts as a natural diuretic, helping reduce bloating and water retention often experienced during menstruation.

Raspberry leaf

Raspberry leaf is a well-known uterine tonic traditionally used to support women throughout their cycle.

It contains compounds that help relax the muscles of the uterus, which may reduce the intensity of cramps. It is also rich in minerals such as iron, magnesium, and calcium, helping to nourish the body during menstruation.

Nettle

Nettle is highly nutritious and supports the body during menstruation, particularly due to its iron content.

It may help improve circulation and support oxygen flow, which can contribute to reducing the severity of cramps. It also helps replenish iron stores that may be depleted during your cycle.

Like hibiscus, nettle also has mild diuretic properties, supporting the body in reducing bloating.

Our blends

We have created three blends using these herbs to support you throughout your cycle.
Carefully combined, these herbs work together to enhance their individual properties and create a more balanced, effective result.

The Rescue
Designed for immediate relief when discomfort arises. This blend works quickly to ease tension in the lower abdomen and support the body when cramps or stomach pain appear. For best results, prepare a strong cup and sip slowly. Can be repeated throughout the day. Best enjoyed with a touch of honey.

Women’s Brew
A daily blend designed to support hormonal balance and emotional stability throughout the month. Especially beneficial in the days leading up to your period to help prepare the body and reduce intensity. Enjoy one cup daily, starting 7–10 days before your cycle.

Period Ease
A calming variation with the same functional base as The Rescue, combined with lemongrass and holy basil. This blend supports both physical discomfort and a more grounded, calm state, especially helpful if your sleep or nervous system feels affected during your cycle.

If you have any underlying health conditions, are taking medications, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a healthcare professional before adding new herbs to your routine.
