RECYCLING

 

Apothecary Jars

Our apothecary glass jars are made of a patented mix of mineral oxides and silica and can be 100% recycled as glass. However, we encourage everyone to keep and cherish these forever due to their unique capacity for herb preservation and longevity.

 

Eco-friendly labels, stickers, and silk paper

All of our labels are eco-friendly and sustainable. 

They are printed on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper, sourced from a responsibly and sustainably managed forest and supply chain.

Our labels are printed on recycled paper with lignin-and sulfur-free ink, meaning that our ink won’t transfer from the stickers, and the paper won’t leave behind any of these chemicals when decomposing.

 

Peel-off labels (apothecary jars)

The peel-off labels on our glass jars are treated with a thin protective coating to make them last for a long time, even when touched daily; therefore unfortunately these cannot be recycled. 

 

100% recyclable kraft refill bags

Our refill bags are made out of 40-60% bio-based, aluminum-free material. Instead of the traditional aluminum interior, these bags contain a protective barrier (100% food-safe and BPA-free plastic) that protects the herbs from UV light, moisture and air, allowing the to herbs last longer. Because they are aluminum-free these bags are 100% recyclable as plastic. 

  

100% compostable shipping mailers (soft bags)

Our mailers (soft bags) are made out of 100% compostable materials. Just peel off the shipping label first (recycle as paper) and throw the bag in the compost. They will compost in 3 months in commercial compost and 6 months in a home compost (including worm farms). 

 

100% recyclable product boxes and shipping boxes

All of our rigid shipping boxes are made out of FCS-approved paper. Recycle as paper.  

 

100% recyclable cards

All of our cards (Thank You note or Promotions) are printed on FCS approved recycled paper and can be recycled as paper. The production process is carbon neutral.  

 

100% recyclable packing tape

Our packing tape is made of FCS-approved recycled paper, printed with soy ink, and activated with water. Recycle as paper. 

 

100% Compostable Protective Bags (NatureFlex)

Our tea bags are stored in transparent protective bags designed to shield them from moisture and air. While these bags may resemble regular plastic, they are actually made from a patented material derived from wood pulp and are fully compostable.
